I was thinking welding an extension to the rear existing spoiler that keeps going out and down, and then when the under belly pan is made, I can do an extension out and upward from under the rear once I can get the airflow smooth and attached. It’ll probably look more like a boat tail/box cavity hybrid since I can only add a few feet of length realistically ( I live in a crowded city. I can’t be driving around a 30 foot long aero missile)

Isn't there a hatch back there? Two-piece box?

heres a picture of the rear. the hatch back looks like it could continue, but hyundai just '' chopped'' off the end of this makes sense

side profile. extend top and bottom spoilers a bit longer and angled more inwards to continue the boat tail shape

I would think Rocket Bunny-style [boxed] skirts that extend to below the split in the tail light. So the lower window and lights are above the box. The hatch could lift out of the addition.

And then a Gurney flap [wickerbill] on the spoiler to wrap the air flow down onto the top of the box.

honestly you cant see anything out of the lower window. its horrible design. i already have it limo tinted. hyundai shouldve just done a tesla back

here's a quick photo shop idea for the top spoiler and the bottom spoiler underneath. ignore the quality. trying to extend the back of the car to pinch it a little more. thoughts?

IMHO that would be called a 'Bonneneville-style' spoiler and a difusser, not a box cavity. It should see some percentage of the benefit.

Are the front bumper slots for aesthetics or air curtain?

Air curtains. They let air pass thru. I doubt Hyundai would’ve put them there just for looks when trying to beat the Prius for mpg

Improvement is improvement though. I wish I knew how much. Id also try to extend the sides too to get that more box cavity thing going. Just no idea how I’d do that realistically.
