'rear of the new Prius'

I'll have to wait until some 'blue-print'-type images, with three-views ( or more ) become available.
Without 'true-length' dimensions to go by, distorted photographs may just lead us down rabbit holes.
There's a million ways to get Cd 0.197. I wouldn't expect Toyota to do it solely with the aft-body.

I've no experience with any literature which demonstrated actual, real-world use, and the efficacy of such a structure, as regards to drag reduction.
It might be an interesting test case for your Aero / Thermodynamic Energy Balance Protocol thread.

Widebody with 650HP vs stock. The only literature I read suggested that the wheelbase is a tad short and wide for 200MPH.

test case

That's at least six-hours on my part for research, organization, calcs., and typing for presentation, once I have the raw data.
That's why I posted it.

So you're saying runaway greenhouse isn't in our future?

Black Bullet - '19 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Blue

Funny how the new Prius doesn’t even use air curtains on the front. Wonder why? Toyota seems to still be against heavy coverage hubcap/wheel cap covers while Hyundai has embraced it.

Did my gold panning trip that in the summer usually gets me 68-72mpg average with no mirrors and wheel covers. 41 degrees today, still had wheel skirts on, but I only averaged 57 mpg. Huge hit just from temp drop. Maybe it would’ve seen 59mpg with no mirrors. Still… temps make a big diff I guess in a hybrid

Taking my wheel skirts off this weekend and getting my snow tires put on, so there goes another aero hit. I’ll be completely back to stock body. For aero mods in snow I’ll have to focus on the under body, and something at the rear that won’t be affected by heavy snow driving

Aero, what’s your opinion on the box cavity thing at the rear of the KIA EV6 suv?

Hard to read a corporation's 'brainz'. Could be beans counted, could be NVH.

Maybe you're driving something that doesn't have a lot of 'low-hanging fruit'?

Rather than adulterate the thread, let's move this discussion to the lounge. I gathered some data which might shed some light.

I'm not seeing any sort of 'box-cavity' back there.
The hatch wing is aspirated.
There's just 'tearing edges' 'burst-edges', a 1935 technology.
The 'raked' hatch could never produce any pressure recovery.
Is it also around Cd 0.29, like it's sister, the Ioniq 5?
