Honestly, I just think this is a prettier Centurion. Very pretty, though!

The XL1 will not meet American emission standards NOT because it is not clean enough, it will not meet them simply because inefficient parts that are mandated by the EPA are not part of the XL1′s power train.
So am I to believe the XL1 has no DPF?

They staggered the seats to make the XL1 narrower.

Thought this article was an April Fool's joke, but apparently not... One of the worst articles I've read in a long time. Snopes.com picked it apart here: snopes.com: Is Volkswagen's 300 MPG Car Banned in the U.S.?

I think the moment the article mentions "Big Oil" and conspiracies to keep the Jetta Bluemotion out of the USA (why stop there? why even allow the regular Jetta TDI, then? ), my eyes glazed over.

What an ignorant, conspiracy-mongering piece of drivel. One that doesn't address the fact that Big Oil didn't stop the Tesla, the Aptera (no, wonky financials did them in), the Leaf or the Volt...

Predictable, the US can't get the 300MPG car, which now costs $150k plus. Might as well try to make it interesting with some conspiracy drivel.
