Nevertheless, the XL1 isn’t intended to be a mass-produced vehicle but rather a specialty vehicle to showcase the engineering talents of the Volkswagen Group.
How many will they make?

Remarkably, the production version looks identical to the concept, right down to its [...] and inset rear wheels. This latter element has been added so that a cover can be attached over the rear wheels to further aid aerodynamics.
Wheel skirts not included! Since the car tapers, I think the wheels look worse exposed! The rims do not seem aerodynamic, either.

I hadn't noticed- I knew vertical doors, but I missed an open door shot (or don't remember).

At 111.000 euro, it's going to be a greenwashing toy for the filthy rich ...

Bild article on the XL1 (German)

Only around 250 planned - got to keep it exclusive, rather than mainstream ...

I'm pretty certain they will have full rear wheel skirts.

I think they have talked only about building ~250 copies of the VW XL1. It is definitely a halo car, and hopefully VW uses what they have learned on all their other vehicles.
