Another picture recently resurfaced of my daily driver from the 1970s. You can see why my avatar pic was de-noised.
Rather than holding them back behind the windshield. let them overhang and possibly overlap the top of the windshield. Whichever light could be 2-3" lower. If the roof rises to the rear, it might not add any frontal area.
Placed at the corners the light will 'wrap around' things more; grouped in the center you'll get more shadows.

I started thinking about doing some sort of Aux Lights on my old Nissan 200sx (sentra) that I was commuting in
the headlights kinda sucked in it
I've been thinking about one of these CURVED LED LIGHT BARS
H1 LED Headlight Bulbs Hi/Lo Beam Conversion Kit
and putting it in the lower grill
still not DOD legal (but will cause less issues than having lights mounted up high)

Knight Industries Two Thousand
I'm thinking of a license plate frame that is a rectangle of infrared LEDs.

Had an idea driving tonight
One of the LED light bars
Mounted inside the windshield (at the top)
With a cowl (to prevent the light from reflecting down/back into the cab)
Like the unmarked police cars (but with white lights)

Not a well-formed IMG tag.
My rear view mirror is 3x32", so I've thought about it. I conclude refraction would make it hard to keep light from leaking around the edges.
