Mpg
G'day there,
I have a 2004 Smart ForFour car with a 1.5liter engine with now over 60000miles on the clock, it supposed to do about 34mpg us, but thanx to eco driving i do get about 47 mpg us or 57 mpg uk or about 19.5 kml average, thats not to bad going i think.
A lot depends on the right foot i think, for the rest i use logic and some coasting, but i will never turn engine off when in motion.
ive done over 12000miles in it and no problems so far only had to blast the TVA with carb cleaner as it once went into limp mode.
Great forum BTW.
Greetings,
Eddie.

G'day mcrews, the tire pressure in my car is 35psi and think that is enough, i went to the tireplace to get my tires checked and he advised me to put in nitrogen, but on an English site i'd read that its a load of expensive noncense, as air what we breath in is allready 78%nitrogen, so for an extra 22% it cost 10 dollars per tire, so i declined the offer, but he insisted with telling me that the tire will be more stable and wont run so hot and wont wear as much,so at the end i just drove away and left him standing there talking into the air.
Good luck with your 40+psi,
Greetings,
Eddie.

It's a fact that higher tire pressure (to a point) reduces rolling resistance and increases fuel economy. I find 45-50PSI to be about what I like as a tradeoff between comfort and economy.

Measure tire wear center versus edges then make your decisions from there. My car gets bad rollover onto the sidewalls until i hit about 45-50psi. I prefer the ride of 55psi so thats where I sit at now. Now I just say buy a scan gauge and learn how to pulse and glide. I went from averaging 38-40 to 60 on my first tank of full png.

To get one of these:
You must have your vehicle in your garage, and you must have a fuel log.
Use this link: "http://ecomodder.com/forum/fe-graphs/sig XXXXa.png"
Change "XXXX" to your vehicle's ID, which can be seen in the address bar of your car's garage page. For my Insight, for instance, I've bolded the vehicle ID here:

G'day Ecky, thanx for your answer, it sounds a bit complicated to me as i am a very simple retired engineer with not much computer knowledge, but i will try.
Greetings,
Eddie.

At the top of the forum, there's a link that says "Garage". You need to add your vehicle to your digital garage. Once you do, the rest is not too complicated.
