I also noticed this in the code, the subtraction went the wrong direction..

Code:
void Trip::update(Trip t){
  seconds++;  //we call update once a second
  injPulses+=t.injPulses;
  vssPulses+=t.vssPulses;
  injHius+=t.injHius;
  if (injHius>=1000000){ //rollover into the injHiSec counter
    injHiSec++;
    //injHius=1000000-injHius; // **this would result in a negative number
    injHius-=1000000;  //  **correct
  }

}
I'd considered using one of the inputs for the MAP signal, and also TPS. As for the fuel pressure changing.. I'm hoping to find more info on the factory FPRs.

I'm having a problem with the Arduino IDE. I'm using "Arduino 11" for Mac OSX.

When I copy and paste the code, then I hit verify and it says
"19: error: Invalid suffix "b0010" on integer constant"

That's on the
"LcdCommandWrite(0b0010); // 4 bit operation"
line.

Anyone else having this problem?

PS - I tried copying and pasting several times, and even deleting the line and re-typing it, all to no avail.

I found it: a google on "invalid suffix on integer constant" produced:
http://forums.ladyada.net/viewtopic....edea840d313365

"instead of 0b100000 notation, use B100000 notation "

Code updated with the workaround.

Wow, really great work and progress

I know I said I'd be jumping in on this project over the summer.... But it doesn't look like that's even possible, given that I don't have a car at the moment

dcb, one problem you might have been having with your vss and injector connection is the splicers you used. I got my splicers from Radioshack and I used the 20 to 22 gauge variety (red). The blue ones you have are for a thicker gauge of (15-18?). You might have been getting a weak connection because of the larger spacing.

Ah, cool. I went ahead and soldered my vss connection like the injection connection, then blobbed some blue rtv in/around the solder joint. I also started with the wrong wire, shoulda used Speedometer output instead of the vss

The thing is, the saturn doesn't have a speedometer cable, it has a hall effect thingie that sends the driveshaft rotation signal to the ecu, I was tapped into that (wrong). The ecu then generates a pulsed signal to the speedo (right).

On other cars, it may be that the speedometer IS connected via a speedometer cable and has a little switch in it that sends the distance info to the ecu.

I think I might be getting close to somewhere. I rebuilt my vss/injector connection circuit with the zeners. I tried firing it up with the signal troubleshoot code. My %D fluctuated from 0 to 13. The C fluctuated between 0 and 0.1 but rarely. Nothing with VC. T showed .1 or .2 like it was counting up.

I'm guessing I'm getting an injector signal but not a VSS signal.
