Someone posted a 2004 Camry XLE with real leather, fake wood, and 112,000 miles for $6,000. That sounded high, but Kelley said it was worth $6,415 in excellent condition and there were only a couple paint imperfections:

I am only giving you 2 pictures! Take that!

Honda Accord, 77,400 orig miles,
Newer tires, new A/C, good condition,
professionally maintained. Great commuter car, runs like new, extremely reliable. Best car in Phoenix for $3,300. Original owner.
I would have driven down as soon as I saw the ad, but this is on the far side of Phoenix and Peoria. Google claims it would take 3 hours and 35 minutes, but that is how long it takes me to drive to my sister's house, which allegedly takes 2.95 hours, and is 34 miles closer, so maybe 4 hours?

Well, the ad is still up, so I might have had a chance, but I would still be an hour away. Let's say that I look her over, take her for a test drive, and have a mechanic inspect it.

That would undoubtedly take at least an hour, so the earliest that I could possibly finish would be 2pm, but I am sure that it would be more like 3 or 4.

Then I drive to my sister's house and Google admits that it can take 2 hours.

Sixty miles with city traffic?!

Sure. Two hours. If believing that makes people happy.

Oh, look at me! I'm making people happy! I'm the magical man from Happyland in a gumdrop house on Lollipop Lane!

Four pm and hopefully I can get a ride back to my car. Ideally my brother-in-law would be willing, since I just bought a car for them.

Google says that will take a little longer, but let's stick with 2 hours.

I leave Sun City West at 6pm and arrive home at 10pm, leaving at 0815 for 6 clients.

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think that would work out.

Edit! The ad is already down!

I'm having trouble extracting the significance for the rest of the post, but I'm happy for you!

I was hoping for a gingerbeard dome.

It was a Simpsons reference.

People on reddit (and elsewhere) seem to like it.

I was just at the doctor's office. They had this one printed as a real X-ray in the window:

I paid $3,200 on 04/20/2021 and I have a check from USAA dated 03/17/2022 for $3,362.77.

I kept the Camry, but everybody tells me that I am always fixing it.

I replaced the radiator for under $140 and that is all that I recall replacing.

I keep looking for an accident-free Camry, but it looks like that won't happen until I am ready to sell one of my cars, and drive down to Phoenix.

The car still runs and drives well, although I need to replace the shocks (I bought them soon after buying the car!), but someone else bounced off the car, and it wouldn't hold up as well in an actual accident.

The 2000 Civic is still waiting on me to fix plastic bolt holes and install the new (and tested) heater core, then reinstall the dash (again).
I have my 1999 Accord back and she is almost due for an oil change and I changed the oil 6 weeks ago!
I haven't found the transmission fluid leak and that dipstick is dry.
Do I put a in a quart and then change the oil in several hundred miles?
My sister keeps asking about it, but I don't want to sell them something that will stain their driveway and require a quart or two of ATF every 5,000 miles before the transmission inevitably fails.

I don't know what is going on with the 2002 Civic. I dropped it off 2 weeks ago and 7 days ago Crazy J said "I haven't had a chance, check back tomorrow," but the gate was locked.

It was locked again today when I checked.

I don't think he has ever answered the phone.

I sent a text and he once responded, but he hasn't replied today.

Might be a challenge to get it perfect with paintless dent pulling.

Lets hear the story. Hopefully you negotiate a great price (don't accept the first offer) AND used car prices ease up a bit.

Another old white full-sized vehicle tried to turn left in front of me and hit my car right where the last one did.

I think the frame is bent.

Ouchie!

My Superbeetle has had the left front corner crunched twice (once on black ice and once right after a Spring rain) but I don't post pictures of it. Lately I've been thinking that when I put the low profile tires on the front, I should have put matching tires on the back. It's the terminal oversteer, the back breaks away first.

The 2000 Civic is still waiting on me..
I have my 1999 Accord back and she is almost due...
How are you doing for transportation?
