Yeah, I agree! I've never seen an Insight anything like it, and I've seen a lot of Insights.
I'm half tempted to take it up to that Insight meet this fall just so a bunch of Insighters can drool over it, lol! It would definitely stand out in that giant herd of Insights.
If you get back down here, make sure you stop in and check it out

***update***
Never mind, they sold it yesterday! It was a 9'6" x 4' sheet of aluminum boat flooring for 40 bucks. Ah well . . . . .
Well, after a long search I think I may have finally found my belly pan material!
I was considering using the coroplast pallet liners like I used on Ron Burgundy, but this looks like a winner!
What do you guys think? Yay or nay
aluminum boat flooring

What's the deal with both cars having side window visors?

It's so I can leave the windows cracked a couple of inches during the day.
Let's say you lived in a place where it's blazing hot about 11 months out of the year, but rains practically daily. And that you drove a car with a great big expensive battery in the back that's super sensitive to heat, and you unavoidably parked the car outside in that heat all day at work. I imagine you'd do what you could to avoid killing it, right?
I also use an insulated sun shade in the front windshield, a towel over the leather seats, another giant sunshade in the rear

It's the OEM factory color, but the sunroof definitely is not factory installed!

Nah, there weren't any G1 Insights this color from the factory. As far as I know, it's the only one in existence.
It started out life as a silver, and the previous owner added a custom 4k burgundy colored paint job, the shaved doors, the sunroof and the leather seats and door panels. I bought it like that.
It's hard to catch the correct color with my crappy iphone, but it's a little darker than it shows in the pics (the pic in my avatar is closest to the real color)

I've played with the idea of making inside louvers with solar cells on em. Maybe to power a fan to keep the inside cool, similar to the Prius?

That's not a bad idea! The Insight has a lot or rear window real estate available for something like that.
I was thinking about suction cupping a solar cell to the sunroof during the day to power a fan, but I'm pretty electrically challenged so I gave up on the thought. If anybody knows of an easy way to hook one up I'd still like to try it

For a while I had a solar panel suction-cupped to my rear window, attached to a fan. You can see it in my build thread.
I liked the rear-window location because it blocked almost zero visibility.

Thanks man, I forgot you had one on yours.
Hopefully I'll get time to install one before it gets any hotter!
