If the MAF was never cleaned before, you will definitely have an improvement.

I've never bought the security bit though. I just spray directly onto the MAF then let it sit and dry. Then start the car up.

MAF cleaner... comes in an aerosol can, available at any auto parts store. haven't put enough miles on to notice a significant different yet. but since the oil change, cleaning the throttle body, IAC, and MAF i do notice the engine running smoother, especially at startup.

fresh tank of gas yesterday and 45.5 mpg on the way home from work. my air dam and skirts are off at the moment after lowering the truck. i filled up with gas from a different station this tank and am wondering if that may have something to do with it...

Did you lower the truck more? If I remember correctly, didn't you already have it lowered 3in front, 5in rear?

it was lowered 2" front and 3" rear, now lowered about 4" front and 4.5" rear, rides about 2"" high in the rear stock so about 1.5" high in the rear now. which is appropriate since it is a truck

I have a 2004 Ram with 5.7 which is loaded down as a service truck. MPG mixed but mostly city driving 10.3 mpg. Front of the truck at hwy speed seemed to surg and lift. About 4 years ago as an old racer I found that the fog light delete vents were packing air up under the fender. Grabbed a sawzall an cut vents into the wheel well. MPG went to 11.0 with the surg and lift solved.
Have added directional vents at the wheel well to create an air curtain across the front wheel. Cut air intakes into the front bumper to relieve the high pressure which is vented into lower wheel well, 2 inch tube aimed down and out in front of the wheel.
installed a Extang Encore Tonneau Cover. fresh air intake, and an under belly pan back to the front sway bar. mpg ranges between 13.5 an 13.8, as a busness man all mods must be very subtle.
