Hi all, the car is not forgotten. Just in the time it took me to build my driveway I’ve turned my crown vic into a trophy truck, bought a basket case pickup truck, and a caged 1976 2002 race car, so I’ve got a lot going on. On the plus side the driveway is done and I’ve got parts on order for all FOUR of my cars now.

Impressive. What engine is going into the 2002? Or what's in it already?

It has its stock M10, we think. The car came with no paperwork and is completely gutted with a cage and race instruments so it's a little hard to specify exactly what I'm looking at.

Got it for $500, the cage is almost lemons compliant, so we're taking it lemons-ing.

Welp, Da Vinci is done for now. It's pinging/knocking at most throttle positions and most loads. Good news is I'll be exchanging some electronics work for the machine work the block and head will need. I just need to save up a little bit for all the parts it'll need.

What? An update? You mean I haven’t forgotten about my amazing wündercar? Shocking!

So yeah I blew up the motor really bad several months ago while I was on a parts run for my Vic (all my cars were broken at the time). I’m not sure if I burnt two exhaust valves or blew the head gasket or what. In any case, looking through a bore scope, my cylinder walls are scarred to hell and back. Even though it still runs on between one and two cylinders, this motor is junk.

Then for about 4 months I’ve been trying to get my pickup driving again, and that has been a disaster. Blew up the transmission and it has been hell getting the replacement en.

But now I’ve got a line on a bunch of parts cars in Sacramento that I can pick through for a good specimen, then tow it back. The ironic part is I don’t even need the pickup to tow it back. The Vic has more towing capacity and unlike the truck it actually has a trailer hitch.

So hopefully updates in the next couple of months or so.

Shame they were diamond hard dicks about it. Lots of stereotypes and assumptions. The only thing they got correct was that you can’t see out of the thing and that it started as a convertible.

I agree with Trekintosh. Talk about the car (the whole point of the blog), not the people. They have no knowledge of the people and saying what they said was just wrong!

I watched it and what from I saw they went right to the XFi and eventually gave it the win, with some posturing to pad out the run time.
