That's what I thought. I too, have a hard time even with the initial 50mpg's stock. Maybe I just suck at hypermiling though?

My 1991 Toy Corr 4AFE/5Spd gets 43mpg hwy stock. After tune up and 500 mile drive it got 39.5 after carefully measuring the fuel in = (

I love my '95 Geo Prism 4 dr. 5 spd/AC 1.6L Corolla clone. At 135k and stock without hypermilling I got 36mpg at 65 mph 90 degrees F with the AC on. Tires are 195/65 radials at 35 psi. Consider this the low end of these vehicles. Yes, it coasts very well.

65 mph for the most part but mixed with short distances of 45mph. The best I've seen was constant 65mph for 600 miles. 43.5mpg....... There is alot I could do to improve this of course but it's a good baseline for stock I suppose.
