Still tempted with this idea. But I have a few too many projects right now...I'm going to try to wrap up the following in the next few months before snow hits:

1) Subaru Wheel Skirts
2) Subaru Front wheel deflectors
2) Subaru smaller Mirrors
3) Subaru Trans insert
4) Subaru Mystery Birthday Gift :-)
5) Triumph TR7 Carbs Rebuilt and Air intake down up
6) Winterizing or winter storage for triumph
7) Track down coolant loss in the Ford, could be very bad
8) Garden
9) Clean up the garage from summer's work.
10) Find a real job...

I might do what Brucey did and just pull the intake pipe off. I'm thinking of tracking down some copper piping and ducting two or three pipes from the header up to the intake. I'm sure if I'll get as much warmth transferred as I want, but its worth a shot and copper is pretty thermally conductive :-) If not I'll have to track down some Aluminum tubes.

I'm not sure on the losses, and I'm sure if there are any at all it will be minimal, but I'm taking off the A/C belt now. I'm tired of it automatically turning itself on when I go to defrost setting and won't be needing it for several months. Figured I could get more life out of the belt by simply removing it for spring/winter/fall.

Don't mean to hijack the hot box thread with A/C defrost comments but what the heck.
I figure you need the A/C to defrost the windows because the engine is not up to temp yet so can't blow any warm air. So A/C comes on and blows dry air on windshield clearing it up.
So get a little electric heater/fan, velcro to dash, blow hot air on windshield for first 5 minutes until engine can supply the warm air. A/C not requried. A little extra alternator power is all.
Solution for those of us that have already removed A/C and P/S.
