New to me 2013 Ford Focus SE

Just picked my first big boy purchase, a 2013 Ford Focus SE. After years of driving beater cars, I am excited to have something fresh to drive. It has the DCT automatic that many people don't tend to like but coming off of 2 previous stick shifts, I am used to the slightly jerky shifting of the DCT. I am interested mostly in engine improvements and possibly some aerodynamics, I already adjust my driving style accordingly to improve as much as I can without being an intense hypermiler. Pics below!

Congrats - nice looking car!

Can you neutral coast that transmission (engine on or off)?

Thanks! Yes you can neutral coast, how hard is that on the transmission going back and forth between in and out of gear?

Well, that's what I was hoping you would answer.

If it re-engages smoothly, then I personally would have no hesitation using N while underway where it's beneficial.

You might get some input from one of our other members who has a Fiesta with the automated manual. He neutral coasted in his all the time because his was a rebuilt car with no warranty, but said he'd be wary about it if he had a warranty.

How many miles are on it? It might get better after everything has broken in.

Oh no its broken in plenty lol it has close to 45k on it already.

My only thought right now is that the dealership had Ford reset the transmission computer and I have heard that these new DCTs "learn" how you drive and perform better has you drive more. I am not sure though.

That is cool. I wonder to what extent it works. The car looks pretty aerodynamic but there is always more you can do lol.
