Lightbulb New Member with an Aveo5

Hi everyone,

i just jound in lst night after reading all of the tips on ecomods and hypermiling. i have a long way to go, but im looking forward to it. im curious about EOC. does anyone know what the effect is on the starter, not just the ignition switch? will my starter ware out exponetially faster using this method, incuring a large expense and ultimately canceling out the EOC method?

Starters are generally much better built than they used to be (20-30 years ago). And they're not a known weak point on the Aveo. I'm only aware of one hard-hard-hard-core hypermiler wearing out a modern starter, and he had an automatic transmission.

With the manual transmission, you'll be able to restart the engine much of the time with the clutch, not the key.
