very true. It's been a blast especially to see my hard work pay off.

Next goal is 40 and I think it's do able even with bare minimum mods

It appears the car was offered with a 1.6 petrol and a 1.6 diesel (turbo)

I cant find any diesels for sale here though.

Apparently its based on the Kia Mentor, which is in turn based on the Mazda 323

so there may be plenty scope for engine or gear transplants

once I get another vehicle I'll be messing with this one more. I know that the "Spectra" replaced the "Sephia" here in the states. The older Sephia's which are about the same car. (internals and most the body as well) had the 1.8's some of the newer ones had the 2.0's. I wouldn't mind swapping in a diesel but before I'd even consider it I'd have to do tons of research

Congrats! You will definitely be able to hit 40 on a few tanks after you get the scangauge. Hopefully you get it before it gets too cold outside.

Thanks! I like them too. I haven't seen them on any other truck, so it gives it a unique "futuristic" look.
