New Sporty Hyundai Plug-In Hybrid!
I just found this cool car and wanted to share it with you.
Called the Hyundai Blue-Will PHEV it will have a range of 64km on a single charge.

Looks like a nice car. 100mpg according to the article. We of course know thats very subjective.
Is it just me or does Hyundai just steal everyone elses body styles? This one has some of its own tweaks, but reeeeeally looks like an insight/crz.

I really like the body styling on the doors of this car.
It reminds me of how cool the Chevrolet Volt used to look.

The front looks fairly hideous to me:
It looks very much like a whale showing it's baleen -- which is an odd coincidence with the name: Blue-Will sounds almost like Blue Whale.

Form follows function. If you want to build say a 2-seater hatchback with good aerodynamics, there are only so many possible shapes you can use. If different makers then optimize their aerodynamics, they're all going to wind up looking alike, the same way birds (in a similar ecological niche) all look pretty much alike. Robins, sparrows, crows, etc: look beyond feather color, and you see they're all the same shape.

I agree, but it seems to be more than that. I'm talking things that they have options on, styling options. Their tail light shapes, headlight shapes, quite a bit in fact just seems to be copies of other body styles that were launched a year or so ahead of the Hyundai model.

Sounds like a great business model to me. Have someone else spend $$$ researching what designs consumers will buy, take the idea for yourself, sell a very similar model for 25% less. Thats why my most recent purchase was a hyundai Elantra.

I totally agree. The name and resemblance is just too much of a coincidence. Maybe they think that just because we are eco-friendly and want to save the whales, that we want our cars to look like a whale as well.
It's almost as if they are trying to see how ugly that they can make a car before people refuse to buy it.

i like the look
but it looks like the offspring of one of those fugly wide-mouth Mazdas
they just blended the grill and the lights
the probably should have used the taiki for the ev base but they opted for power instead

Don't worry, the real version won't look a thing like that, and the actual EV-mode range will depend on the price of batteries in whatever year they get around to building it.
The X-shaped side creases don't look aerodynamic, so I hope they don't catch on. Factory grille blocks are good aero, and I'm glad they're showing up more and more.
