New Template: Body of Revolution Debate

What's the correct Reynolds number for the earth. I want to calculate where flow separation will occur. I don't have access to a large enough wind tunnel.

All I can say is the reynolds number is going to be in the turbulent zone, and it wll be huge.

It does feel like we are in the turbulent zone alright!

Your question could be answered only within a very bounded, contextual framework. And not as a 'whole planet' system, as it's in a vacuum.
It's something that, for example, climate scientists would have to consider on a regional level, with respect to their general circulation models.
A 'model' of Earth, small enough to fit in a wind tunnel, at supercritical Reynolds number, would experience flow separation very close to 115-degrees downstream of it's forward stagnation point.
