Nissan Leaf. Another ugly EV.
Why why why why do they have to build ugly EVs? I wanted to like this new car. But this thing is butt ugly. Ungainly, odd proportions, no cohesive styling cues and from the looks of it, mediocre aero. What kind of glue are these car designers huffing?

Angry fish mouth.

It looks like they took a Prius, a Versa, and a Pontiac Vibe, and smashed them all together - with a fish.

Haha, I agree with Nevyn.
I wouldn't call it ugly though. I kinda like it.

Looks about as appealing as a Nissan Quest mini-van.

Which is why I didn't say anything along those lines. I can tell what it looks like, but I can't decide if it looks good or not.
It'll probably grow on us. Especially with a grillblock and some skirts.

Hi,
I don't dislike it, and I think some other angles are more flattering:
Here's a video:
http://www.wideinfoz.com/nissan-leaf...hed-by-nissan/
They specifically did not want to do wheel skirts and other obvious aero tricks -- they did what they could and still keep it looking "normal". The underside is very smooth, I understand... and notice the diffusors under the rear bumper.
I could do with a little less Murano-like 'C' pillars, and a little less sweep up in the sill line. I'm hoping that there are steel wheels on the base car, so we can put on smooth wheel covers...

That is better.
The main area of concern in my mind is the rear end. Everything in front of the rear wheel well is all right if you ignore the side view profile. Everything below the rear hatch window is what the call in the industry a cluster f***.
Again, I want to like this car, I really want an EV. Just not this particular one. Having said that I'm glad some of you like it.
I hope it succeeds. I just worry about consumer acceptance. I think you need some foward looking radical designs like the aptera (which is a beautiful design) for a certain market segment and you need the total sleeper that looks like everything else. I suppose it is not so odd looking as to deter people and no uglier than many other cars out there.
I've said my piece and so now I conclude with Go Leaf Go!

2-door it, drop it near the ground, rag-top it - California Special model - that would sell like hotcakes! Throw in a Cash For Klunkers offer; and you're off to the races.......
