And what happens if you drive to a place where there's no cell signal?

Then you can't turn on your air conditioner via the cell phone.

seems like every one in the electric car club hates the leaf. They never have any thing good to say about it. I don't understand. Of course they want everyone to convert their own car to make it electric. I say why take a perfectly good car and turn it into a pile of Junk that cant even go a 100 miles?

Yeah, I've been noticing that a lot. I think that a product made for mass consumption will be hard pressed to satisfy the "pioneers" of said product.
I'm not an EV car clubber. My only gripe with the Leaf is the looks, but that's an aesthetic gripe. The looks are not a legitimate beef if the Leaf can do something like have "EV class leading" range.

...but, how does that saying go? "...BEAUTY is only skin deep, but UGLY goes all the way to the bone!" (ha,ha)
...actually, it's not that bad, just not very good, either.

For me it'd fit the bill for 80-90% of my annual mileage.
The only thing it couldn't do is long (1000km+) road trips which account for those 10-20%.
The deal-breaker to me is the inclusion of MS software.
I won't have anything from MS in a critical appliance.

It looks as bad as the Volt or Ampera to me, so that's a draw

I definitely like the design of the Volt and Ampera. That's the thing about aesthetics, you have yours and I have mine.

Yeah, I'm gonna call it the "Catfish EV". That's the same number of syllables as Catfish Hunter, so it "sounds right" to me.

I like how the leaf looks. Its cute... if I had one, I'd want a green one.
CFG... your pikaicon flashes at the same rate as my music...
You guys all know in under a year, you'll see someone come out with a trunk kit that extends the leafs battery by 3x :P

I just think that it is funny that the Electric auto bozo's all poopooed the prius when it came out because it still had a engine. Then they poopoo the leaf too. wtf
I get what your saying "they" will not be happy with something made for the masses.
Hey I think its all great. We are headed that way any way why not enjoy what you have long the way. Some of these people have come up with really great Ideas and put them into practice. I say, Every step is a good one.
