We took a little road trip up to NH this month and I was surprised to find much more
tolerance for my slow-poke driving at the speed limit. If it said 55, I stuck to 55.
No problems. The very few folks driving 80 in the right lane, just fish-tailed around me me,
as they zig-zagged their way to their next speeding ticket.. (Or horrific crash).

On roads where the limit was 65, I found there were folks sticking to 55 in the right lane,
so I jointed them, for a relaxing drive. Got pretty good MPG for an SUV.

I think avoiding the weekend speeder crowd was a smart move.
Those folks tend to crash a lot and bog down the roads.

I keep trying to tell Soulster (my brother) that a Kammback would help him get better MPG. He likes the looks of his car and does not want to change it. Most of his driving is on the expressway to work and back. Not much traffic in the morning (6am) but the morning traffic is 10 + over the speed limit and full of "jerks". The afternoon drive has more traffic but at better speeds.

I can comment on the traffic as I worked at the same spot for 19 months. I wish there was a better road to take but any other route is 6 more miles and 15 more min (on a 35 min drive) with lots more stops.

On my usual drive, it's a 55 zone with two lanes each way. I go 5 under and stick to the right lane. No problems.

A Tempo isn't the usual eco car either.

I wouldn't really want a Kammback on my car either.

But surely those huge scoops up front could be stealthily blocked from the inside ?

Over half of the area on those is blocked off from the back side.

Yeah I always am in the right lane, unless I need to move over for traffic entering the expressway. What gets me is that the express way goes from 2 lanes to 5 in under a mile, and people decide that all 5 lanes are great for doing 80mph!

Oh, and I suppose you all could take this comment I got in so many wrong ways, but don't!... I was ride sharing on a 500mile round trip recently, pulled onto the wide shoulder and coasted for about .5 of a mile to a rest stop, this black minivan pulled over as well and flew up to my tail, pulled into the rest stop and this guy came up "you know you were coasting for like a mile back there right? Why can't you two gay's get a life and learn to drive?" LOL I am SO NOT GAY! (and neither of us look remotely like one!)

If you stick around here long enough, pretty soon you will be yearning that yours looked more like this:

Everyone yelling at you you're an idiot won't really matter either. Mine gets some looks sometimes, but I have never had anyone openly hostile towards me. For the most part, everyone just passes me and doesn't notice me.

People don't seem to realize it's a road, and not a race track. Just because you're in front of me doesn't mean you're ahead. (:
