LOL!! Race tracks everywhere, expect on the street that goes by their front yard..
I think I know why people speed up to dangerous speeds. Adrenalin!
I remember what it was like the first time I ever put the petal to the metal. 120 MPH!
The adrenalin was pumping!! I was about 13 at the time.
In the Navy, I was a fireman for two years. Driving heavy fire trucks
fast takes some skill and it's scary when you have three guys hanging
onto a rail on the back-step.. And, you are only 17 years old!
I almost became an adrenalin junky! Loved fire fighting!
Back in the 1970s, I sent many hours on Rt-95 and learned that speeding
up and zig-zagging like a nut, only got you to work about 30 seconds sooner.
I got in the right lane, turned on the radio and slowed down.
Never was late for work..
Flash forward about 15 years, I was following a young lady (co-worker) in a sports car to work site, traveling on very crooked back roads.
She was very familiar with the route. I had never been there.
She suddenly dropped the hammer. As a joke, she was going to leave me totally lost out in the boondocks.
I was in my old 91 Plymouth Laser(/mitsubishi eclipse). I had excellent road holding tires.
I barley managed to keep up! About 12 miles later, when we pulled into the parking lot at the plant, The adrenalin was pumping again!
Zooming down an unfamiliar roads at unsafe speeds was just nuts.
I was mad at her and mad at myself.
Since that day, NO MORE adrenalin.. I've already had enough excitement in my life.
Don't need no more!!
