According to the map I posted below, I was thinking of going out of the park and heading North to the end and turning west. Cross route 7 and head to Stanhope/Kellogsville rd. Head north to the Cain rd bridge (dirt road) then the Graham rd bridge, then to Root road and finally, State road covered bridge. From there we can head either to Lake Erie to Conneaut or head back south.

The problem is that all 3 bridges (Caine, Graham, Root) off of Stanhope/Kellogsville rd. are just east of the road, so we can go to the bridge and follow the nasty dirt road all the way to route 7, head north on rt 7 to graham (paved) head west on Graham back to Stanhope, then north to root road, turn east through the bridge and go all the way to rt 7 again, head north to Hatches corner, back to Stanhope, and north to State road bridge, but this way is a lot of dirt, a lot of unneeded driving, etc.

I know we could all whoop a 180 at each bridge even if there were 20 cars going, but would be just weird. Still working on a sensible route.

The metro drivers can just lift up the rear of the car and walk it around

Have done this a couple of times with mine just can't hold it and walk it around though. Me and my brother lifted the back up like 2 feet one day just to do it.

I am sad to announce that I don't expect to be able to make it. I knew for a while that I'd have other plans (70 miles away in the opposide direction, no less) that saturday, but my better half has managed to hijack the rest of the weekend.

The upside: I'll probably get a free cylinder of beer. Her stepdad is the New York Homebrewer of the Year, so not all is lost.

If there is anyone going to the meet who will be running Rt 80 across the top of Pennsylvania on Saturday let me know if you want to meet up somewhere. "Hey rubber duck looks like we got a convoy" lol

Sorry guys, I don't think I will be going. It would be nice to see everyone, but I would rather not spend the gas money (yeah, I really am cheap).

Edit: Maybe I could ride my bike could and have a mini bike tour. That would be fun.

We will be leaving Around 7am on Saturday Morning. Would be happy to tag along together (as long as I am not too slow for you ) We will be going up the NorthEast Extension of the Turnpike and out Rte 80.

I usually tag along behind a slower Semi (faster down hill and slower up).

Estimated Distance: 105.15 miles
Estimated Time: 1 hour 57 minutes
Your fuel log..............

32 MPG at 150 miles (including tour) = 5 gallons of fuel.
With return trip you will use a total of 10 gallons of fuel (or less) at $3.70 average.
Estimated cost $37.00 (lunch is on us)

Anyway, I have our "Covered Bridge Tour" mapped out for us to enjoy. There is going to be about 15% dirt road travel, so don't wash the cars. We will travel north on Rt7 and follow the map posted below. This will be a total of 5 bridges to visit. I say we stop and get out of the cars at the State Road bridge since it's just really cool there. The last bridge is optional because the road is just in terrible condition with huge holes. We will see what happens. Also, the longest covered bridge in the Nation was recently completed on Plymouth Ridge road. This bridge would be about 20 miles away from the State Road bridge, but I do not know if they have re-opened it since the road to the bridge is being repaved. This would also make the tour too long and many of us have a lot of travel time already, so I say we stick with my simple tour plan which will make the total time of the tour about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Here is the tour map..........
