Sorry to hear this, that sucks. Feel their pain, after 911 my biz was almost non existent and has yet to recover to pre-911 levels.

Is all drilling by all companies from all nations banned or is it just American companies in American territorial waters?

Pete

wonder if the BP HQ has a special wall with a poster labeled "STUPID STUPID IDIOTS!" for them to bang their heads into. If not, I would recommend it.

...why have the wall suffer?

...have the BP idjiots bang their heads together!

...that way, the idjiots that 'think stupidly' alike can suffer alike.

The new revised spew rate is 35,000-60,000 BARRELS per day.

That is 1,470,000 gallons up to 2,520,000 GALLONS per day.

This is as much as an "Exxon Valdez" every 4.5 days. (Now there is a horrible unit of measure: an "Exxon Valdez" = 11,000,000 gallons) This higher rate is ever since they cut the bent pipe off of the BOP.

Yep, its a mirror they walk past each day.

Now then Dick Cheney, who did he work for ?

Short Sharp Science: Whose spill is it anyway?

Quote:
While BP leased the Deepwater Horizon drill rig that caught fire, Transocean owned and operated the drill rig. Haliburton is a drilling services company that poured the cement plug that likely failed prior to the blowout. Schlumberger, another drilling-services contractor, was on the rig in the days leading up to the explosion to perform key safety tests, though their services were never put to use, and Cameron made the blowout preventer that failed to stop the uncontrolled flow of oil and gas.

I have read that the US consumes 20 million barrels of oil a day ...

Therefore and someone please check my math, we have yet to lose one days consumption of oil as a result of this disaster ... That is just sad ...

That also opened my eyes as to how much oil is left under ground to feed this insatiable habit of ours ... wow ...
