Thumbs up One full year of data

As of this fill-up I have one full year of fuel economy data. Oddly enough, when I put in the numbers into the fuel log for today's fill-up, my FE for the last tank equals my FE for the last year.

How crazy is that? Now I just need to go through my data and see what did where and when so I can do better than last year.

After searching through my data, it looks like the biggest threat to my continued good FE is tire pressure. The biggest hits came around getting nails in my tires (and the subsequent under-inflation by the garage).

Also, here's a nifty little graph of the mean temperature of northern NJ vs my average FE by month: (data from here)

Because I am a dork (and most of us here are) here is an Idea for you since you are now past the one year mark. If you keep an excell or similar spread sheet for your personal viewing instead of using date format mm-dd-yyyy record your fillups by day of the year such as day #165 for May 14 and every time you change years track it as a new data set so the years run concurrent and you will really begin to notice improvements or decreaces as technique and tuning battle age and wear, other factors such as your temperature graph would then be ruled out as constants. congrats and good luck
