Ordered/Installed: Perforated White One Way Overlay

this is not printed so will be white. should have extra so if someone else wants to give it a shot I can send some your way. I just ask you to use it and not set it on a shelf. will see if this keeps me a little cooler on the drive home. will last a few years. plan to use on back window but might also try on the sides. only concern is the rear facing DVR.

What a brilliant idea! Keep us updated if this keeps the interior temperature lower. If so, I'll order some right away!

Xist -- If the windows are ≤26" you'd have 10 feet. If you have thick C-pillars or you can overlap the side window pieces you might get the side windows and backlight out of a full sheet.

Why not just use window tint?

Interesting. Would you have more visibility with illegal tint instead?

Laws are weird...

This stuff is only legal on windows that don't have a tint limit (rear and rear side windows), that is you could just go to a darker tint for a similar effect. It's not away around tint laws.

Looking at the pics it looks like about 40% light transmittance. If you add this over 40% transmittance tint, you'll have roughly the same effect as if you'd just gone with 15% transmittance tint.

Although the white colour is good for reflecting light, tint films have metallic particles added which serve a similar purpose.

Unfortunately it's going to be a hard thing to test properly unless you have two identical cars.
