partial grill block: what do I need to consider?

OK, I'm ready to move forward and try out a partial grill block. I could do a test run with chloroplast (where is the best place to get this?) and if it works out try something more permanent with plexiglass cut by my local glass shop. Or maybe skip the test run and save some time and just get the permanent one made?

So the grill block improves aerodynamics and helps the engine warm up faster. But how do I determine if my engine will overheat as a result? I have a ScanGuage, should I be keeping track of the engine temp? If so, what range should I be looking for?

Hi,

You can buy Coroplast at sign maker shops. You won't need very much -- I would even just try it out using duct tape. Yes, start keeping track of the coolant/water temperature on the SGII. It should be pretty constant near the temp for the thermostat -- 180F or 190F are common, I think?

Check with others with pickup trucks -- I think you'll be able to block all three of the upper openings.
