Daox, done. 60.2mpg over same trip today. I realize the display is likely optomistic, but on the same trip I can generalize.
All the best.

By the way, the general consensus is that an upper grill block is the place to start, and then add a partial lower gill block if possible.

Neil, I understand from diagrams that the converter cooler on the Pc is at the top of the radiator. Others, it's at the bottom. I didn't want to cut air flow to it.
All the best,
Graeme

60mpg real world is impressive to say the least. Can somebody please take a pic of the trunk with the foam blocks and spare tire removed? I'm curious to see how much trunk space it has without the dead weight.
thanks

I have had the lower grill entirely blocked on my 04 for a couple years now. I haven't had any issues and I have a PHEV kit so I use the electric motors a lot more than the normal Prius driver. I wouldn't worry about cutting airflow to it.

Daox, good to know. I'm a little gun shy with a two-day old car.

It's better to establish a "no mod" baseline anyway. If I were you all my mods would be reversible until the warranty ran out.

All hybrid synergy drive vehicles (ford and toyota) have CVT type transmissions that are nothing like conventional CVT transmissions. Its basically a planetary gearbox with two electric motors and the engine all on different inputs.

Grille block is just 1/2" foam pipe insulation wedged in the grille opening. Slits cut in back of foam to clear vertical portions of the grille. ScanGauge I've had for years. I just got it back from being updated.
As answered previously, the transmission is a planetary CVT.
All the best.
