Very good job on the transmission. I never had a Geo tranny apart. I may have to do it some day.

Hey, that's some huge hail. Is that my 86 Chevy truck out there? The last time I saw it was in the storage yard by the Drive-In. The video stops right when the hood gets another dent.

Best wishes out there....... Kimmer

I made an album for you to see some of the carnage, I don't want to clutter up my thread with too much... The blue Subaru WRX definitely got torn up the worst. The glass company couldn't get the rear window to glue in, I ended up replacing the entire hatch with a non-matching part... it looks fantastic, not.

Sucks real bad! Its astounding how ice bullets blew through OSB sheeting and roofing like that. Poor Subaru! I'm glad all y'all is safe.

I have friends in McKinney and they missed the destructive hail. I did not know you were in that area.

Yessir, I'm about 20 miles (if that) South of Mckinney, same county.

Oh hey, what's this? A missing transmission?

Oh, look. There it is. I can tell you that installing this the first time was a prolonged and laborious task. This time was a piece of cake! I could change the clutch on this thing in one evening after work:

It's just about time to put this sled on the road. The exhaust is hooked up, the tranny is rebuilt, the battery is charged... all I need to do now is sort the wiring so the key controls the fuel solenoid and we will be idling down the road (perhaps on peanut oil...)

Progress has been made. Then unmade, then remade, then unmade, then made again.

Installed the transmission, as evidenced by the pictures above. Then found a little paper cup that contained all of the locating pins... So I pulled the transmission back off the adapter plate and installed the locating pins. Then, a few days alter, I dreamed that I had not torqued and staked the nut that holds fifth gear on. So I opened up the top hat and... I hadn't, so I did, then I put it back together again.

I should either make a check list or not imbibe so much during these procedures.

Today, I re-torqued the top hat bolts and dumped in some Syncromesh gear lube. NO LEAKS. I found that dumping the lube in through the speedo drive gear hole is much more convenient than trying to get it in the horizontally oriented fill hole.

The drivetrain-side throttle linkage assembly was reinstalled to the transmission.

The shifter mechanism was re-connected.

The clutch cable bracket and clutch cable were connected and adjusted.

I'm back to where I was...

Still left to do:
Identify "hot in start only" and "Hot in start and run" wires to power the diesel fuel solenoid.
Plumb in the vacuum reservoir and pump.
Fight the State for some diesel registration.

I sincerely hope that you do not have registration troubles. I am unable to register my diesel conversion in Calif. It has been 7 years since it was put in storage.

That's because california sucks, I don't think it's hard to registered modified cars here in texas.
