pictures reoriented 90* counter clockwise
When uploading pictures the site automatically reorients them 90 degrees counterclockwise sometimes.

Should be a sticky topic.
Forums orient all photos to landscape, meaning whichever edge is longest will be horizontal.
If you take photos in portrait orientation, forums will rotate them to landscape, causing them to be 90 degrees off.
Ideally, take all photos in landscape orientation to begin with and you avoid this problem.
To fix a photo, you can crop the top and bottom of the photo until the height is at least 1 pixel less than the width.
Alternatively, you can pad the sides of the photo with extra white space until it's at least 1 pixel more than the height.

I don't know why, but if I pull photos off my cellphone, resize them with an image editor, and then upload them here they maintain their correct orientation--landscape or portrait.

I haven't seen this personally, but I tend to shoot in landscape.
Testing portrait style now...

Posting portrait pic from a phone...
Dun dun dun....
Edit: uploading a portrait pic from the laptop, but which was taken on a different phone...
OK. That one worked.
So is it the phone, or the fact that it was uploaded from the PC?
Here's a portrait style image created on the PC:
That one worked, too.
Seems to be a phone-related thing.
What if I email the first pic from the phone, save it on the PC, and THEN upload it...
Holy cow! (It saved in portrait format, but was then rotated.)

The link is broken... takes you to main Ecomodder forum page.
What is the mechanism that allows some portrait photos to remain portrait?

I cropped one of the photos that was re-oriented so that the bottom/top were longest sides and it posted from my mobile without reorientation. I left both photos up: https://ecomodder.com/forum/showthre...tml#post601689
