Pretty sure I saw a video saying that applying spraypaint or non-plastidip clearcoat makes it a beast to remove, but I can't find it now.

I guess it's worth a try, cause you can peel it off if it doesn't work?!
When I originally heard you could peel it off I had visions of it looking like skin falling off a zombie after a while, but I guess won't peel off unless you want it to; more like the old Mission Impossible series when they peel off their disguises.

I'm wonder if plasti-dip the front edge of the hood as a stone guard to keep it from chipping, or maybe the top of the rear bumper of the car to limit scratches from putting stuff in the trunk.

I dipped my front bumper and front 6in of my hood, 9months later, still no rock chips.

It would mean you could use platidip for the reversibility and spraypaint for greater color possibility.
Why? There could be issues with product compatibility. What color effect might you want to achieve? The only thing I can think of not available in Plasti Dip would be flip-flop colors.

Start with the Create Your Color Kit or True Metallics as a base color and then look at the Plasti Dip Enhancers for Pearlizers, Metalizers and Glossifiers.

I wonder if you can airbrush murals in Plasti Dip.

Edit: I guess I was wrong.

This is only a problem if your base coat of plastidip is really thin.

If your plastidip base is thick enough where you can easily peel it off...then spray painting regular spray paint on top of the thick plastidip base should not cause a problem if you need to peel it off in the future.

test on a spare piece of metal to verify
