...it's a fancy way of obtaining "road load coefficients," such as rolling resistance and aerodrag, that can't be obtained on a chassis dynamometer.

What's crazy are the preliminary Edison2 numbers from coastdown. The "road load" is so low on the Edison2 I think I remember seeing (on Edison2 facebook I think) 7hp to go 70mph as a figure that came out of coastdown.

...sounds about right, because I estimate only needing 15 hp for my '09 Vibe at 55 mph with its 2900 lbs and 0.33 CdA.

Aptera was never out -- they didn't "win" the tie breaker, but they were in the finals, and all the finalists are tested at Argonne. Except Edison2 since their engines were "blown" during the coastdown testing... Their earlier testing at Rouche (sp?) will have to be used?
