I tend to dismiss things as me being old and grumpy. I may be twice your age, but I am not old yet, although definitely grumpy.

If you got a Master's, would you have a longer contract?

As for the difficulty of finding a job, I was hired at the first place that I ever applied, Burger King, back in 1997. Once I was an adult and had more bills to pay, it was much more difficult. I would hear of places opening up and receiving thousands of applications.

Hopefully it is less competitive now.

When I was in Germany, I researched in-demand careers, and Speech-Language Pathology was on every list. After I graduate, I need to earn a certification to be a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. I would earn about the same as I did when I graduated six years ago, but it would be full-time.

Yes, how was your birthday?

I liked my Focii and I often tell my dad that I wish that I still had the last one. Of course, he says that he does, too.

You know you might have an Eco car, when your battery looks bigger than the engine.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!

Xist- birthday was good. it was back during baseball season so no time for a party, but I'm actually cool with that. I believe your commitment time stays the same. But I'll have to look into it more.

sheepdog 44- That is the smallest car battery oreillys has. I would have gone for something like a lawn battery but I received the battery as a gift for my birthday so you can't complain about free!

I got the ecomodding bug today!

Air Dam

Grille opening is about the same as stock. I'm afraid to go much smaller... but I guess the 3 cyl doesn't make much heat.

Started installing the side view camera. My personal favorite. Not quite as aerodynamic as a mirror delete but better visibility than a mirror. A great Tradeoff

HydroJim, your modifications are looking great! Did the conveyor belt material give you many problems? How much does the camera stick out? I would think that it would be smaller than any mirror folded-in.

I know there was a small discussion on your headlights. Have you considered shaping plastic around them? That should make it more aerodynamic without affecting visibility.

Has anyone on here built wheel skirts from conveyor belt material?

It should be easy enough to test a grill block, your intake looks so small that one piece of duct tape might cover it, but then again, I doubt that you would see much of an improvement.

it seems like you have already completed most of the goals that you set in your first post. Now what are you considering?

The Eugene Celebration parade as usual had a gaggle of high school students in their Electrathon racers (non-street-legal reverse trikes with a limit on battery weight). But still...

I see the drivers door window rolls up and down now.

Why is the rear-view camera standing off on that bracket? Why isn't it at the back edge of the coroplast? Why is it on the aerodynamically sensitive A-pillar at all? Since you don't need to see the camera itself, they could be ferinstance on the outer ends of the front bumper.

In my case, between my last year of ROTC and the beginning of my tour, during my 5th year of college, we went from 50,000 to 500,000 pairs of boots on the ground in The 'Nam.

Some servicemembers say they enjoy deployment...

(Keep in mind I am old and cynical)

That would be my brother. While I was on tour (ROTC - Transportation Corps) my brother (OCS - Special Forces) was cross-training with NATO troops skiing in the Alps, and riding his motorcycle around Europe. I can't complain, though; I was assigned to 2nd Civil Affairs Co., it was sort of like being in the Peace Corps.

After Vietnam the suicide/death in combat ratio was 1:1. Nowadays, with drones and everything, death by combat is way down, but the ratio is up— 5:1. Some people don't respond well to the experience.

That said, best of luck.

HydroJim -- I assumed the air dam was coroplast. It's conveyer belt material? And you cut it with those scissors?

I'm not sure where conveyer belt material came up. The coroplast was left over from my AeroFocus project. I still have 2 4x8 sheets left. I'm considering a kammback but not quite sure how I feel about how it would look.

smooth wheel covers and rear wheel skirts are kind of a no go for me at the moment. my wheels deserve to be shown off.

Unlike my AeroFocus project, this one is going to be moving at a more normal pace like most of the projects on this site.

Now they tell us that most military deaths are from preventable accidents and usually while not deployed.

That is coroplast? Can't you normally you can see the ridges from the fluting?
