At the 2:30 mark they put some goop on the wind tunnel model.

With all the Hi-Tech, this part was so old school it blew my mind.

Boom is bringing back commercial supersonic flight

Commercial travelers haven't had a supersonic option since the Concorde stopped flying in 2003, ending 3.5 hour trips from New York to Paris. Boom thinks it can make supersonic passenger jet flight cost-effective for any airliner, across more routes.

Audi Climatic Wind Tunnel Detailed
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/a...led-35658.html

Quote:
Located at Audi's huge facility complex in Ingolstadt, the Wind Tunnel Center has been at the center of car development for the four-ring branded cars for years (or, to be more precise, since 2008). What makes this wind tunnel a little more special than the other ones used by the majority of the car makers is the fact that it can simulate any kind of weather you can think of.

Quote:
Aside for cars, the Audi Climatic Wind Tunnel has been used to test everything a potential client wanted to test. That includes, at times, even athletes, like swimmers, who step on the ramp to have both their posture or some new type of material for their suits tested.

Factories at Work: In The Ford Wind Tunnel
The Chicane | Factories at Work: In The Ford Wind Tunnel

Quote:
Ford J Car in the Wind Tunnel

You’d think that Ford would have rested a bit after achieving their drubbing of Ferrari and bringing LeMans victory home. But whether it was just momentum or to silence critics that suggested that the GT40 was more Lola than Ford, FoMoCo decided to bring the design of the next iteration of the GT car more in-house. Keeping the mighty 7 liter of the previous generation, they sculpted a new shape around it in partnership with Kar Kraft. Getting those strings placed right to measure the wind movement over the shape helped refine the aerodynamics of the project that would eventually become the GT40 Mk IV.
Looks like the white wind-tunnel model above is an in-between version of the two below.

World premiere of Mercedes-Benz Aerodynamics truck and trailer at IAA Commercial Vehicle Show
World premiere of Mercedes-Benz Aerodynamics truck and trailer at IAA Commercial Vehicle Show | Wheelsology.com - World of Wheels

Quote:
To further reduce fuel consumption in truck/semitrailer combinations, Daimler launched its 'Aerodynamics Truck & Trailer' initiative. As part of this, engineers researched the aerodynamics of current vehicle concepts and then developed two innovative and at the same time practicable solutions.

The solutions are relatively easy to put in place in the short term. Last year, the tractor/trailer combination was a spectacular design study, this year it is already a reality: with the new Mercedes-Benz Aerodynamics trailer, a long-haul tractor unit can save approximately 2,000 litres of diesel annually, thereby saving its operator nearly 3,000 euros in expenses...................
