Rear Vertical Spoilers? Fabia Estate

I've seen some discussion recently, and noted it on some cars, about having sharply finishing edges on the rear edges of the vehicles. I know some people have stated they 'trip' the air flow and allow a better flow at the rear of the vehicle.

So, I looked at the back of the Fabia and estate and thought, this might work.

The boot lid offers the benefit of have a straight seam from the top of the hatch to the bottom at the bumper, which would accommodate some coroplast quite nicely.

How deep should this 'fence' be? Should it be thicker at the bottom?

The best work I'd seen on this was from Coventry University, but it has disappeared (possibly behind a paywall). It's referenced here: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post296613

I lost the PDF in a hard drive crash, but posted one page here.

Seen here, in context with other mods:

http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...-cd-21175.html

People around here have been calling that a "box cavity". Not as good as an "organically" extended, template-correct tail/Kammback, but FAR easier to make, and possibly preserves better rear view by leaving more glass exposed.

Thanks for the links gents. You'll look over them in slow time when I get the chance.

Guess first thing is to get some cardboard together and see what the art of the possible is. I'm not looking to make any holes in the vehicle, but I certainly intend to get the real wheel skirts done and tidy up the air coming off the rear.
