I once posted about deflectors in trucks and busses: Air deflectors on trucks/lorries.

Once the rear deflector is removed, you have two very nice mounting supports for a Kammback. I personally would do an A-B-C test, where:
A - OEM deflector,
B - No deflector,
C - Short Kammback.

skibum is correct if I recall correctly; remove the fin and you will draw all sorts of exhaust gas into the back window. No biggie if you're aware of it though.
I'm pretty sure removing it will help your mpgs. I like the debate on this though!!!!

That's set up to direct air straight down, so of course it's going to increase drag. But what if you angled it the way you'd angle a kammback?

Hi, first time here, regarding this deflector, I need to find the manufacturer of it.
I've got the same on my 4R, happened that I've lost three of the four screws in rough roads.
Hope to find them as spare parts.
