I just joined the club too!
2001 CVT auto
I always liked this thread because it is the first ever Insight forum thread I read through!
I just found a deal on craig's list that could not be passed up, and it runs! Slight start off shudder problem but nothing a little cash wont fix since I got mines for about the same price as yours!
I'm gonna need to keep up with you guys and fix mines up too!

Hey Red -
Did you ever make your grid charger? How'd it work with your pack?
I'm in the process of pulling the pack to evaluate its health & possibly refurbish it. A grid charger is also on my eventually-to-do list.

Been meaning to update this but just been busy. I ended up selling the Insight late last summer due to financial reasons. Needed to pay for my last quarter more so than keeping the car. At the end of it though, the car was working great!
I will say this, if you plan on putting an Insight back together, one of the first things you should do is build a grid charger and rebalance the pack as that can keep you from unnecessary recals, plus the pack isn't too happy being dead most of the time

Clean out the shed, anyone need the factory service manuals for an 00-02 Insight? I have the main FSM plus the body and electrical supplement ones.

Yes I do. I just bought me a 2000 Insight. I just drove it back from Chicago to Seattle and got over 70 mpg most of the way! It has a few gremlins, but for $3700. I can live with them for a while. What do you need to get for them?
