All parked vehicles aren't in use.

72hrs without moving is typically considered to be not in use unless posted otherwise.

Turms of the law suite would be the city accept all of the increase in cost above ebay/salvage yard part cost... most shops wont install owner supplyed parts due to liability. In the above case of the rebuild of the front end, its a new car and posable $5k to get the mods installed before done by a "shop".

I work from home, so I can go a couple weeks without moving my vehicle. Then again, I park in the garage where it belongs.

Most houses in my area don’t have a driveway let alone a garage
Problem solved?

What do you do with all your other junk? Leave it in the driveway? I thought garages were for all the junk you didn't have anywhere else to put it. At least that's how it is around my house. My single car garage is 16'x28' and I've barely got enough room in it to park a Ford Escort station wagon a car that's what maybe 6'x15'?

I bought a fairly large first house that included a 2 car garage. In that garage I fit 2 cars, a motorcycle, workbench, folding 4'x8' trailer, 4 bicycles, air compressor, a futon, a ping pong table... optimizing wall and ceiling space is a must.
Christmas decorations went in the attic above the garage, which wasn't easy to access, but not a big deal once a year.
The other vehicles I own lived at my parents house, or occasionally parked on the street.
Now I've got a 3 car garage, and 3 cars in it including my wife's friend that is staying here until she finds a job. Still working on organizing tools and optimizing wall space, but it's coming along nicely.
I haven't resorted to this, but a friend of mine has, and it's an elegant solution to a problem:
I mount bikes to the ceiling with J hooks in the ceiling joists:

My garage roof has cross beams under the main beams to store brooms, rakes, spare TL lamps etc.
And my car's rooftop box hangs from the garage ceiling like that, on its rack mounts. The lid is free and the lock is accessible.
I have not considered storing stuff inside it up till now. Hmm...

America: pay a premium for the extra land and then improvement (garage) to store cars. It’s a big chunk of money.
Then, fill garage with $3k of junk while two $45k cars sit outside fast deteriorating in all weather.
Unreal.
