Honestly the SGII is exactly what it needs to be, the only real improvement that would make me pull the trigger on a SGIII is full diesel compatibility with gasoline like accuracy.

How about an SD-Card or USB port that allows for datalogging? A comma-delimited text file is all you need to go spreadsheet crazy.

If it would enable me to gradually map out the engine acceleration efficiency so I could have a more suitable method of accelerating that would be a plus but it better come with a good proggy to do that.

As far as I know there is no engine map for the 2.2 Ecotech I've seen.

+1 on the USB port for enroute data logging!

...an engine map of our Ecotec 1.4LT engine would be nice

And +2 on datalogging capability with a removable chip. A usb memory stick would be nice but would likely be cumbersome and bulky, SD or similar would probably be a better option.

My scangauge 2 is pretty accurate, within .5 gallon on fill ups.

I figure some error is in the 8 oz of additives I add, and there has to be some error in refilling, you're not going to get exactly the same in there all the time.

What kinda of accuracy you seeing with gas cars?

Odd my gas cars are about that accurate but the diesel varied by +/- 40% and never would center.

Have you tried using only 3/4 of the actual displacement and only correcting halfway towards the actual values ?

On my diesel it's getting very near the actual numbers - except when I'm P&G-ing.

I'm hoping to see:
  • memory card XGAUGE programming - so we don't have to do everything in the car
  • memory card recording - so we can get history of "n" data elements with time-stamps
  • handling multiple data items in the same response - so I can use both MG1 torque and rpm to know the actual ICE power at any give time
