ScanGauge bugs

I have been having some problems with my SGII lately. First off my typical gauge layout is:

MPG LOD/VLT
AVG RPM

I have encountered a bug where the letters M and P in MPG turn to black blocks. I can switch the gauge and the blocks appear on other gauges as well, only the labels and on different letters, IE the M in RPM may be clear but the R is blocked. This is happening intermittently and I can't seem to determine the problem. Turning the car off and letting the SG time out will generally reset it but this reoccurs weekly.

If I unplug the scan gauge then it reverts to the previous fill up plus an odd mixture of miles and gallons and an error in the mpg calc. So unplug scan gauge to reset blocks, plug back in and gallons burned for tank reads 16.x on 12 gallon tank and 435 mpg. It got thrown off very bad where I couldn't get it working on a fill up. I reset it twice and am running my 2nd tank through it now.

I needed a new battery in the car and bought one today. It was bad when I got the car because now the LCD screen on the radio is readable and the car starts almost instantly. So the SG has been likely suffering from low voltage. But after doing this the SG is now blank for MPG however AVG is calculating of outlandish numbers. On a typical 40 mpg, 2 mile trip I just got 98 AVG. RPM was fine and VLT was ~14.2. This is on the new battery. Any ideas? Resets are annoying but I will do one soon. This will be my 4th reset in 2 weeks and roughly 2000 miles.
