scangauge problem
yesterday i took my scangauge off my truck and installed it on another vehicle. it worked fine on the vehicle and today i went to install it back on my truck and the scangauge did nothing the display did not light up. it just did absolutely nothing as if it was not even plugged in.i also tried pushing the right side lower button to get the display to light but it did nothing. i tried disconnecting the cable from both ends multiple times and tried shutting the truck off and restarting it a number of times, then i drove it around town for 40 Mins with multiple stops thinking it would take a while to start up but still absolutely nothing. i checked the trouble shooting section in the manual and it said the OBDII port is usually has a fuse connected to the cigarette lighter and my cigarette lighter is working.
anyone have any ideas? is it common to have problems with scagauges.

Go plug it back into the other vehicle and see if it work in it. That will tell you if it is the Gage or the vehicle. Look at the OBD II port and see if any of the connectors pushed though our you have any bent pins.

Try both ports on the Scangauge...
Look yer cable over carefully to see if there are any apparent problems with it...

i will try my scangauge tomorrow on the other vehicle. i am thinking something is wrong because usually when i press the bottom right button the gauge displays the info on it. but now it doesn't do anything. i was hoping there would be some sort of way to reset or restart the scangauge by pressing the buttons in some sequence.
i drove my car today and the scangauge still did nothing. i am starting to go through scangauge withdrawals and now i am shaking slightly when i drive my truck and keep looking down to see my mileage. haha
i think i will give scangauge a call on Tuesday

i sent my scangauge back to them to troubleshoot it. it turned out it was a bad cable.they sent me a new cable free of charge and now it is working again. when i got the new cable i compared it to the original cable and there was no pins in the connectors bent, damaged, or missing from the original cable. it looked completely fine but it did not work.

It could've been a bad cable that was just hanging on with a few internal threads of wire. Glad yer back up and running!
