I don't think it matters, just that you would need to drill through one of the boards, and cut the dowels flush.

I don't like the idea of using dowels, figuring the price would add up.

I would need to order a 96" 1" dowel.

Home Depot would charge $14.78 for hemlock and $14.18 for hardwood.

Apparently, one does not simply buy 1x1s, when I search for that I don't find anything, although it did show 1" square dowels.

Dowels are round!

It seemed like the square dowels were priced similarly to round ones, despite not requiring a lathe.

A 1x2 is $1.65 and a 36" 1" square dowel is $4.86, which doesn't make any sense.

Who is buying square dowels?

Let me rip up some $1.65 1x2s and I will sell you 4 1" 3-foot square dowels for $4.85 each.

With 3 cuts I would turn $1.65 into $19.40.

That hemp block looks familiar. I started going through my commercial shed thread, but that is long, and I have far too much to do.

Today was the fourth day that I was supposed to drive to see my friend dying of cancer.

She said last Wednesday her doctor told her she could be gone in a week, so in theory she is on borrowed time.

I am just trying to decide if I will wake up once I start driving or feel more tired.

Isn't that exciting?

Why not just drill square holes?

Get some sleep, just not out on the highway.

I think that I slept 3 hours and then finished an application for the latest house. I now have a list of 20 houses, but if they were on a corner, backed up to street, alley, canal, or strip mall I usually skipped them--or if they didn't have a 2-car garage.

I feel like I am being too picky, but I added 10 more, so I am not worried about finding a place, I am worried about paying hundreds of dollars to apply to one place after another and being rejected until I run out of time and\or money.

I am going to try to get some more sleep. If I cannot I will organize the garage some more.

Now that you're a highly soon-to-be paid professional, will you get back to experimenting with aircrete? The reason I ask is because of www.youtube.com/@UncoverVault-k6r They have a catalog of various means of creating geopolymers. Vinegar, urea, cigarette butts, coffee grounds.....

The electricity/sea water variant is similar to Wolf Hilbertz's Marine Electrodeposition.

Newport, OR's Old Town is full of vats of brine. That would be the place to set up a brickworks.

Oh yeah, where does the electricity come from?

This is a 600 Watt solution, should be adequate for the elctrodeposition.

Illegal in most states until recently, It's opposite to Jack Ricard's Selfish Solar. In this case it's just a plug-in load leveler for the grid.

But plug it into something like the Jackery/Anker/ECOFLOW large battery bank and you have an instant microgrid.
