Two kinds of riders: those who have crashed and those who will.
I've crashed (twice), ran out of gas (new bike had a broken petcock), and had my clutch cable break (still rode it home that way though... stop lights sucked). All on separate occasions.

I tried to get a lot of crashing in on a dirtbike before getting on a street bike, in hopes that those gremlins who spread sand at intersections will take pity, and not try to get me

Didn't expect that the mechanical problems would be so high.

Unfortunately, street riding has lots of dangers that you won't be concerned with in dirt. Manhole covers are slippery, painted stripes are slippery, road turtles are slippery, dirt on pavement is slippery, drivers will brake quickly, drivers will veer into your lane, drivers will pull out in front of you, etc.
I started in dirt too, and still crashed twice. Fortunately, neither were too bad.

Riding on wet muddy road in 1st gear... dropped the Suzuki GS500 and brock/bent parts so was unable to continue. Lady in a car stopped to see if I needed help. she went home and sent her husband and son with a pickup to help me get to the next town, about 10 km away.

Slid out my mum's Volvo V70.
It was wet snow, and a 90 degree turn. I hitted the brakes too late, and the car turned.
Slid out on the left side of the road, car leaning 45 degrees to the left
I was not even scared, I was furious for driving like a idiot.
Called 112 (911 in finland) because i needed a pro (fire dept) to pull the car up as it was leaning badly.
If my buddy would've tried to pull up with his Deere the car would hav flipped on it's roof

Doesn't appear that you can edit the survey. Would have been a nice addition.
