Looks good Jeff.
I think I would duct tape up the gaps in front of the tires though. Glad to see some aeromodding efforts on the Levin this year.

For some reason I thought Memorial Day weekend was the last weekend of the month, but it's not. That gives me an extra week to get the Metro ready. Yay!

+1 on the extra week to work on the car.
I also had a nice VT State Police Officer remind me( with a special, hand written award, no less) that I needed to renew my inspection before my trip to Canada. I thought it was awful nice that he was so concerned for my trip ( translation- I got a ticket ).

That is indeed the next step. I'm hoping to find a sexier solution than duct tape however. I was thinking something like those shower corner brackets. Will keep everyone posted on what I find.
Have a productive modding Memorial Day weekend. We had just had our long weekend to either celebrate Queen Victoria or French-Canadian Patriots, or both.

Blew my heater core yesterday. Good thing its warm out now. Looping the hoses and have plenty of time to get the "sticky sweet" smell out of the car before the rally. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

Sorry to hear that Ken. Old car blues, I've got them too. I've discovered that the steering rack on the Metro has got some on-center play. Nothing major, but I like everything to work perfectly or I'm not happy.
....sanding bondo and grinding rust spots today. The smell of primer is in the air.......

Definitely "old car blues". Had several other problems, but have persevered.
Got my shirt in the mail, yesterday .

I wish I was ecomodding the car but getting it road worthy is as far as I will get for this event.
Last night's project, the area below the radiator.
Another one down, many more to go.

Question!
With the gen. 1 Insight, I have the option of completely disabling ALL the hybrid functions (no electric assist, no regenerative braking, auto idle stop, auto-restart etc.) by throwing a breaker swich in the high voltage battery pack.
To date, nearly all of the distance I've covered with this car has been with the hybrid system disabled in this manner (as a result of a degraded battery pack).
Question: if I compete with the hybrid features disabled, is the car still considered a hybrid for scoring/class purposes? Or would it be competing in the non-hybrid class?

Here's the result of some more hacksawed 5" lawn edging, two corner braces and a few screws and tie wraps:
The Levin ran well with this setup and the tires at 40psi last night. Smooth like butter. Just have to be very careful of potholes and curbs.
