A BBQ? I'm down. Maybe we need to start a regional group. I think SVOboy is vegan, but I make a good grilled tofu sandwich. Let me know if you get any takers.

See you at the movie night. I'll be the big guy with the beard.

edit: Dang! Looks like their calendar already has them booked that weekend. Oh well. I wrote them a nice email of support.
Did they contact you back? If you PM me your contact info, I'll forward it on for you.

Tomorrow is the screening of GasHole here in Madison, WI.
Going to have hybrid people and others at the showing.
I'm also going to donate some $$ to help pay for the cost of the theater rental.

Should be a fun time!

I am watching Gashole for free, steaming it online.

Half way through it, so far it has been very educational and quite entertaining.

LOL, this "documentary" didn't hold up well. "We're more dependent on foreign oil than ever" it says. Next claim is that the water carburetor allows 100 MPG, but Shell bought the patent to not profit from it.

They're literally selling the Big Lie of the water carburetor solving all our problems to unsuspecting dullards. This whopper is an hour and forty minutes long? What kind of gashole would produce such a piece of garbage?

Loving the scientific explanation of how an engine works. "The only thing that will make an engine pop is vapor".

Oh, greed is why we don't have nice things. That's a well reasoned argument. We're all above greed, selling things for as low a price as we can, instead of what the market determines.

These corrupt or ignorant people are gasholes, and this fiction piece is appropriately titled, and "free" is to high a price for their garbage. Evil Kapitalists are suppressing unicorn majik.

Water injection does work. It just doesn't work on gasoline engines for improving fuel economy and it only slightly improves fuel economy on diesel and brayton cycle engines.

On diesels at high power outputs, you have this propensity to melt the aluminum piston tops, which AFAIK, is considered bad juju. Water tends to prevent that melting and gives a small power gain.

Right, but it's not like there is a single genius in the 30's that figured something out that nobody since has been able to.

The entire film is meant to gin up hatred of a company that produces products people want to buy.

Yeah if it really worked someone could figure it out using a single cylinder engine on a test stand.
It's not rocket science.
It's air/fuel ratio, ignition timing and some amount of water. Maybe play with cam timing.
The main thing that improves fuel economy is lean burn, 20% to 50% up to 100% if the engine was running pig rich. But that's not going to make a car get 100mpg.
