Solar augmented hybrid

For those of you who are fond of solar power. Here is someone who actually did add solar panels to his Prius. Very interesting setup!

Pretty sweet. I'm planning on a 45W installation on the roof of my wagon. I hope to be able to eliminate the alternator except for going out of town. My 25 minute commute should be able to be solar, and if I need to plug in at home on cloudy days, that's fine by me!
I already got an Optima YellowTop (deep cycle battery). Now I just have to come up with $300 for the harbor freight solar panels!

By "solar", I mean my ICE will not be used for any electrical generation. I do not have the means of driving on electricity.
