That $6100 has a custom sound system, so that probably helped with price. To me, that would be a debit, not a credit. He has a Kenwood aftermarket head unit in the dash. Yuck. You have the original OEM, and THAT is rarer. I wish I had money. Somebody... buy and take care of this car.

I will not have proper storage for the VX (my house is up for sale) and I hope that someone who can preserve this car buys it. I had been asking him for years to sell it to me. Unfortunately it took his death for me to acquire it. Many years ago, when I first asked him to give me first right of refusal should he ever sell it I was commuting 25-30k miles a year and it would have been the perfect car at that time. I'm retired now and drive much less. Also, as stated, my house is now on the market and I probably wont have a garage at the apartment. Not sure where I will move yet, but that is the plan.

I would not recommend that anyone buy it who is living in an apartment or otherwise have the car exposed outside. These are still stolen frequently when unattended for extended periods.

I look for these VXs and it has been over 5 years since I've seen one on the road in original condition. Many have been modded and repainted, so if I happened to see one of those on the street I wouldn't be able to identify it as a VX.

Does it have that split opening feature that lots (all?) of the VXs had? The glass opens by raising and the bottom of the hatch opens like a pickup tail gate?

If it does, post that photo... people don't know about it much. Only the VX had it, I think, and such a photo might help sale(?).

I do have a pic with the tailgate open. All the 92-95 hatchbacks had the "clamshell" tailgate. My understanding is that it was more expensive to produce, and they did away with it in the next generation Civic.

This car was my friend's "baby". He really cared for it.

I don't believe he ever revved it above 3500 or so rpm. I told him once that it might be a good idea to gradually bring the rpm up to 5000 rpm on the freeway run it for 10 minutes in order to do an "Italian tuneup". He looked at me almost as if he were horrified and didn't like that idea at all. Not making this up...remember it well. In any case I'm like he was and usually keep the rpm in the low range.
