Rad area mod

I have noticed on my Kia Rondo that behind the grille area, but in front of the rad, there is that whole area including the tranny cooler that seems to be a big air trap.
I realize the air “flows through it” but there must be a large degree of resistance too at road speed.
Underneath there is a plastic panel that I am going to try removing to possibly redirect that built up pressure out the bottom and under the car.
Anybody foresee any issues in doing this?
I can’t see any cooling issues arising from this.

You wanna force the air to go through the radiator... if it goes under the car instead of through the radiator you’ll overheat...

ok thanks...so much for that short lived idea LOL.
I suppose over heating could be considered as... counter productive.

then would there be benefits in installing electric fans and totally closing off the front?
I am totally grasping at straws here.
I love everything about the car...except its above average fuel consumption.
I better not mess with anything that involves the rad area...I will just accept it for what it is.
I can buy a lot of gas for the cost of a ruined tranny or engine.

Without a source of fresh air, it will continually heat up under the hood until it overheats, even if you have fans. Ideally you'll have a clear path from grille to radiator to undercarriage, and close the grille opening until you have just a little more opening than is necessary in the worst case you see in your driving.
