06' Toyota corolla s

I am new to this hypermiling, I have an 06' Toyota corolla S. Is this bad aero dynamically speaking? It has the spoiler and ground fx. I would assume lowering it would help. It's a five speed manual. I have heard it could damage the transmission if you roll in neutral with the motor off, does any one know for sure? I also read not to idle in neutral while rolling but to leave it in a high gear without lugging. Wouldn't it be better to idle because the rpms are lower?

Thanks for all your help I will post my first tank of newbie hypermiling mpgs after I fill the tank.

Don't coast an auto trans with the engine off. Doing so will damage some auto transmissions because the trans fluid pump shuts off. You can coast with the engine on in neutral quite safely. I have seen the aero drag for your car listed as 0.30 which if true is a little better than a Civic coupe (0.32), but not very close a Prius (0.25, I think).

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

Cool thanks man, I'm stoked on driving this week trying to get max MPGs. I am having a hard time with the timing of all the lights. There are 13 lights on the way to work. Hopefully with practice I can time them well. Any how I will be doing the math at the end of my next full tank.
