Stuck timing belt tensioner bolt

For quite a while tonight, instead of finishing the timing belt job now that my epic struggle with the crank pulley belt is done, I have been trying to loosen the tensioner bolt. It is jammed on tight. Spec is 34 ft/lbs torque. I have slightly damaged the bolt using a variety of wrenches and six and twelve point 14mm sockets. I cannot find good answers online... not yet. FSM is not helpful on this point.

I imagine I had better not p-blast such a bolt since it is so close to the timing belt. Can I install the new belt over the old tensioner?

I don't know about this vehicle, but reverse thread bolts are sometimes used on tensioners/ pulleys

Good point 2000mc. I'd be sure of the direction to loosen, and then use a good impact wrench with a tight fitting socket.

When I changed my crank pulley, I put a 2ft breaker bar on an impact socket, and then had to extend the breaker bar with 3ft long pipe. Even then, it took my entire body weight to break the bolt. My impact wrench wasn't even close to being up for the job.

You shouldn't have that much trouble on a 34lb spec bolt though.

Lol, if it's reverse threaded, you probably have it tightened to about 80 lbs now, you're lucky it didn't shear off!
Have you heated it up? Somebody might have used some heavy duty locktite on that thing!

If it is reverse threaded or left-hand threaded, I can't find any reference to it. No warnings in the instructions, nothing online, nothing in the FSM (unless I missed it on that last one)
